What does the 4th mean to you??

To me... It means having fun with my family and friends, however, sometimes you can't have it the way you want it. Thins year it will probably be just the younger boys, myself and hubby. I would love for Granny, G-pa, Branden and Billy to come up and have a BBQ with us but the price of gas is just way more than any of us can bear!!!

I might invite my Dad and step-mom but they may not come either just depends on my stepmom and how she is feeling. I have to work 5 am to 2 pm so that is no big deal to me.

Remembering some of the past 4th of July's, I remember we made a huge mess on our street when we lived in Des Moines and the next day we had sooo much stuff to clean up!!

My favorite 4th was when we went to Montana to my Uncle's place and we had the best time...Granny about peed her pants as G-pa about blew off his fingers or so he thought...

Here is what was going on...G-pa was lighting off caps of dynamite and Granny was shooting off a rifle over the lake. Mind you, there was plenty of distance between them but they did this at the same time anf the sound eachoed off the lake and all hell broke loose!!!

I have never seen Granny laugh so hard or to see G-pa shake his hands so fast it was just AWESOME!!! They were not hurt but maybe their pride was bruised just a touch!!

Sometimes I wish we could just go back in time on certain things and enjoy them all over again but I guess that memories will just have to do!!

Please be careful and do NOT do anything stupid on the 4th!!!
